What is the qualification for TET and CTET exam?

The qualifications required for the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) and CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) exams in India are as follows:

TET (Teacher Eligibility Test):

  1. For Classes I-V (Primary Level TET):

    • A candidate should have completed a Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
    • In addition, candidates should have completed a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) program.
    • Alternatively, candidates with a Graduation degree and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education are also eligible.

  2. For Classes VI-VIII (Upper Primary Level TET):

    • Candidates should possess a Graduation degree and a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
    • Alternatively, candidates with a Graduation degree and a one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) program are eligible.

CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test):

  1. For Primary Stage (Classes I-V):

    • A candidate should have completed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
